The Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, has intensified efforts to reposition the education sector with an inspection tour of ongoing model school projects in Jalingo.

During the visit, Dr. Agbu Kefas, assessed the level and quality of work at Government Comprehensive Secondary School, Jalingo and Government Day Secondary School Nukkai, where new model school buildings are under construction.

The Governor carefully examined the facilities, evaluating both the pace of work and adherence to approved standards.

The inspection, conducted on Friday, forms part of his administration’s broader drive to ensure quality delivery of infrastructure projects across public schools in the state.

Dr. Kefas closely reviewed the structural development and overall layout of the buildings, interacting directly with engineers and site workers to seek clarifications on specific aspects of the construction.

Demonstrating hands-on leadership, he directed the project engineer to make necessary adjustments to guarantee that the facilities meet required standards of safety, functionality, and modern learning design.

In a significant announcement during the tour, the governor revealed that Government Day Secondary School, Nukkai, will be upgraded to a full boarding facility.

He assured stakeholders that additional structures and amenities would be provided to meet standard boarding school requirements.

Emphasizing the importance of quality education, Dr. Kefas stated that the model school initiative is aimed at creating a conducive and competitive learning environment for students across Taraba State.

He reiterated that strengthening educational infrastructure remains a top priority of his administration.

The inspection underscores the state government’s determination to ensure that all ongoing projects are executed in line with specifications and delivered within the stipulated timeframe, reinforcing its commitment to transforming public education in the state.
